Fritz Boettner

President

Fritz grew up in West Virginia, paddling its rivers and hiking its mountains, and those places shaped the values that have guided his work ever since: stewardship of natural resources, conservation, and rural economic development. He has spent his career across consulting, academia, and nonprofit management, working on the connections between land, energy, and community in Appalachia. He lives on a farm in the Greenbrier Valley with his partner.

Fritz first served on the CVI Board of Directors from 2017 to 2019, returned to the board, and has served as president since 2026.

Fritz serves on the Summers County Farmland Protection Board, which works to permanently protect farmland in the county.
