What Is the Tuscarora Creek Clean Water Act Section 319(h) Septic Upgrade Cost-share Program?
The reason for our to restore failing septic systems in the Tuscarora creek are two-fold. the first reason is The Opequon Creek watershed, of which Tuscarora creek is a sub-water shed, is a priority area for West Virginia’s efforts to reduce nutrients and sediment delivered to the Chesapeake Bay

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and Berkeley County Board of Health sponsor a cost-share program for homeowners residing in the Tuscarora Creek watershed for upgrades to or replacement of underperforming septic systems. Canaan Valley Institute partners with the DEP and BOH to administer the program.
