The main goal of CVI's Applied Research program is to address scientific issues that are related to human well-being. This includes public health, environmental intactness, and the state of local economies. Our research efforts address the concerns in our region, which include everything from local forests and streams to the health of watersheds from northern Pennsylvania to southern West Virginia.

The R & D Team works on two general kinds of concerns: problems identified by stakeholders, and emerging issues that call for proactive work. By partnering with government, academia, and private research groups, CVI conducts innovative, interdisciplinary research that contributes to protecting, managing, and restoring watersheds for the stakeholders of the Mid-Atlantic Highlands.
