Canaan Valley Institute (CVI) is a nonprofit, non-advocacy organization that helps organizations identify, solve, and implement solutions to serious water issues impacting their daily lives.
Our organization's technical capabilities and human resources come together to help community organizations, government agency partners, and businesses solve two of the most widespread problems in the Mid-Atlantic Highlands: streambank erosion and polluted waters caused by inadequate wastewater treatment.
CVI has a wide array of services and programs and the people to assist you. We can help you identify the problem, plan ways to solve it, connect you with potential working partners, identify possible sources of financial assistance, and implement a sustainable solution suitable for your needs. Combining scientific information with the needs and desires of local organizations to develop sustainable solutions is a CVI specialty.
Assistance may come from development of solutions that save property owners from damage or property loss caused by flooding. Other times we assist by identifying the sources of pollution and help to eliminate them. It's not something most people think about, but if you live in a community where access to clean water isn't a given, there is nothing more important.
Visit the Our Capabilities section of our website for more information on services that CVI can provide or call toll free, 1-800-922-3601.

CVI's headquarters are located in the historic
Buxton Landstreet Building in Thomas, West Virginia
